Q. What database would I have to look in to find pictures of architects and designers?

There are a couple of ways to locate portraits of designers. Both the Avery Index and Art FullText/Art Index Retrospective have an option to locate articles that include portraits.

In Avery, on the lower part of the page under "ways to limit your search" there is search box for "illustrations" with an option for portraits.

In Art Full Text and Art Index Retrosective there is a "physical description" drop-box, with an option for portraits.
